The Anna Bath (formerly known as Steam Bath) is a historic bathhouse located in the city center of Szeged. The Neo-Renaissance and Turkish architectural elements create an eclectic style, designed by architects Láng Adolf and Steinhardt Antal from Vienna in 1896.

In 1927, in the immediate vicinity of the bath, the Anna Well was drilled to a depth of 944 meters, from which water with a temperature of 52 degrees Celsius emerged, known for its therapeutic properties in treating digestive complaints and thyroid disorders. The healing water was also introduced to the bath, leading to its elevation to the status of a medicinal bath in 1938.

The Anna Bath has been fully renovated in its original style and now accommodates both a therapeutic bath and a wellness area. The bath continues to offer healing treatments and houses a rheumatology outpatient clinic. Anna Thermal and Spa Bath

Heroes’ Gate

The Heroes’ Gate in Szeged (Latin: Porta Heroum 1936-1937) is a neoclassical artistic creation built in memory of the fallen heroes of World War I, commemorating the 12,000 Szeged soldiers who perished.
The complex was designed to close off one wing of the building on Boldogasszony Avenue, creating a smooth traffic flow under its three arches. Although the plans were drawn up in 1930, construction didn’t begin until 1935. It was proposed by József Pálfy, the mayor of Szeged at the time, that this unique building also serves as a gateway to honor the heroic deceased of Szeged.
